How do you find married life now? Is it like our parents generation? Could we just rely on one source of income? The spiralling cost of living and the need for the comforts of life lead us to slog it out. Gone are the days when we can rely on a single income. Where does it lead the married life? is there real peace in married life? I have so many questions and not any readymade available answers. When both spouses work should one take a backseat and let the other progress or should both progress at the same time? If we give priority to ourself the children seem to be neglected and in this case should we blame each other? The working parents dilemma has no end to it. How are we to find a balance to the demands placed on us by our employer's and to cope with family demands? Could anyone out there share their ideas on how they are able to juggle both and lead a successful and happy llife?

Life as a teacher

To all those teachers out there. What has one teacher to tell the others. Welcome to life as a teacher. How do you find your days? Are there days when you feel like just not going into class n on the other days full of enthusiasm and raring to go? Do you suffer from burnout? Let us ponder on our teaching and which of the part do you find the most taxing? You would have different answers but for me the most tedious is the marking and providing the feedback? Why?

Simple for I am a language teacher and a language teacher means having different skills to be taught n the most tiring of it all is the writing skill. Get my train of thought? Tecaching 5 classes of English with a minimum of 40 students in a class. One essay for each student multiplied by 200 n you have got 200 essays coupled with directive need to provide 2 essays a month. Is it not an endless marking from which u have no reprieve. I wonder how you teachers out there are coping with it. Like to share your ideas on how to reduce the burden... oops I dont like the word burden why not change it to chllenge? Ha I like it better now. That is just about essays n how about comprehension, summary, journal writing, literature... the list is endless.

Let us share our views about this n maybe we could open the eyes of the higher ups to our plight and something could come out of it A special reward awaits for the first to respond

family

Married 24 years and still going strong. It is indeed a miracle where we want instant fix to any problems. There are the highs and lows but nothing is beyond reconcillation as long as we feel the need for the relationship to work. Do not leave anything in the closet. The children act as a buffer to the trying times and respect and cherish them. Life of working parents is indeed difficult and i would like to share about this with fellow bloggers and get their views about it. I would start with the joint responsiblity in my next posting.
